In the spring, I read poems to students. Today, a commentary I wrote about the experience was posted on a Literature, Arts & Medicine blog. Visit it: here.

I'm always wondering if I make a lasting impact on the foster kids who come in and out of my life. . . sometimes when I'm not in the best of moods, I lament . . . they'll never remember this or how could they ever know how much they are loved. But on days when I come to my senses. . . I think, if they don't remember (in 5 years) the time they spent with us. . . that moment of joy, of knowing unconditional love will be buried in a place deep down. I belive seeds are planted in little glimpes of moments and our impact is more than we assume. I appreciate the joy you bring these kids and they do to, of this I'm sure, even if details escape them the following spring. I love ya, Ms. Poetry. .. thanks for what you do for all this marvelous kids!
