Ah Maggie May, let's just say I had a very stereotypical NYC cab driver. A lot of stop and go and stop and go real fast, and yes, the potholes that Dr. Jalapeno has pointed out! Not to mention the awkward use of a buckled in sling in a moving vehicle. Lordy...

oh okay! i thought you meant he gave you some shit for nursing, in which case my teeth were bared for you :)

As one who has been born and bred in California and only taken cabs while on vacation.... but do babies not have to ride in carseats?

Actually Jillian, not in taxicabs. They have to be in slings or carriers and the parent has to be buckled in, but it's a pretty loosey-goosey system...yet, another reason I'm reminding myself not to do such a thing!

As an English teacher, I am awash in shame at the grammar in my previous comment.

O Jillian, I hadn't even noticed! And I'm usually a maniac about that sort of thing. I'm the one who should be awash in shame: nursing my daughter in a moving vehicle! Lordy...
